Thanks to Planet Sox for their ongoing support

Big thanks go out today to Elie Levy, President & CEO of Planet Sox!

On several occasions, Planet Sox has sent very generous donations of the adorable children's socks they distribute out of New York City. The socks feature Snoopy, Hannah Montana, Curious George and other fun characters. We were thrilled to receive another shipment this week.

Thank you Mr. Levy and Planet Sox. We'll be sure these socks brighten the day of children in need in the communities we serve.

Toledo Area Alumnae Panhellenic collect socks for Hannah

Big thanks go out today to Pat Holz and the leaders from Toledo Area Alumnae Panhellenic!

They hosted the third annual "A Taste of What's to Come" on February 4 at White House/Black Market in Maumee, Ohio, and collected more than 100 pairs of socks as well as cash donations for Hannah's Socks.

This event was attended by graduating sorority seniors from chapters located at the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University, and it's the second year that these wonderful women have supported the Hannah's Socks cause.

Pat tells us, "We will continue to send you donations throughout the year and encourage others to include you in their quest to support local charities."

Thanks to Pat and all involved!

Anonymous box of socks and cards for Hannah arrives

Special moments like these are such a joy: We received a box of socks late last week, and it contained several construction-paper socks with hand-written notes from the kids who collected the socks. No return address, no more info -- so, we send out a big "Thanks" via our website and share two of the notes below:

Great day Saturday handing out socks in Downtown Toledo

We enjoyed a really inspiring day this past Saturday helping our neighbors-in-need who gathered at the Downtown Toledo Library!

Four new volunteers, who came to us through the Disney Give A Day - Get A Day volunteer program, joined us to help hand out 300 pairs of thermal socks. In addition, and thanks to our new friend Scott in Arizona's donating the items, we handed out lip balm and skin lotion.

Thanks to our volunteers and donors for helping make a difference in the lives of others!

Final 2009 sock collection tally: More than 125,000 pairs!

We're excited, and very humbled, to report that the Hannah's Socks team set a goal to collect 60,000 pairs of socks in 2009 and, thanks to the amazing generosity of our supporters, we collected 125,492 pairs of socks.

These socks were desperately needed by the families and individuals at shelters we served, and the donations allowed us to grow to add more shelters in Northwest Ohio and Southwest Ohio while also adding shelters in Northern Kentucky, Southern Michigan, Cleveland, Dayton and Akron. We also were able to serve underprivileged children at schools in Toledo, Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky.

We're eager to do more in 2010, and we hope you'll join us!

We're setting our 2010 goal at 150,000 pairs of socks. Achieving that goal will allow us to continue to serve our current partner shelters and programs while also growing to help more families in more Midwest communities.

Ready to make a difference? Learn how rewarding and inspiring it is to collect socks for Hannah, and do your part to help her collect 150,000 pairs of socks this year!
