Big thanks go out today to troop leader Julie and Girl Scout Troop #3602 in Omaha, Nebraska! Julie tells us:
"After seeing your ad in a magazine, I thought this would be a perfect Christmas project for our GS troop. Instead of doing a gift exchange at our Christmas party, the girls were each asked to bring a pair of socks to donate to a local charity here in Omaha, NE in Hannah's name. Our goal was 100 pairs of socks, and we more than doubled our goal and collected 208 pairs of socks!
"The socks were donated to Project Kids Connect Omaha, www.homelessconnectomaha.org, which is an annual Christmas Eve open house event serving the homeless families of Omaha. Thank you for your inspiration for us to be able to help the less fortunate in our area."
No, Julie -- thank YOU and your troop of Girl Scouts! Hannah sends warm greetings and thanks.

We're thrilled to have Gallery Salon & Spa on board to support Hannah's Socks again this year!
From December 1 until December 21, they're collecting new socks as well as monetary donations on behalf of Hannah's Socks. They hope to collect 500 pairs.
In addition, for every $1 donation, they'll put your name on a pretty red stocking in their salon, and will then match every dollar collected until December 21. They'll take the money and purchase socks.
If you have any questions call 419-352-4247. Thanks Carley and everyone at Gallery Salon & Spa!

This Thanksgiving marks the 5th anniversary of Hannah's Socks!
Five years ago, my Hannah offered her socks to a homeless man who had none.
Who could have imagined all the good that special moment would have created?
Vic and I extend our heartfelt thanks to all the supporters who've helped us collect and donate more than 150,000 pairs of socks to families in need in Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan.
If you'd like to help us celebrate over the Thanksgiving weekend, Hannah, her family, and members of our Board of Directors will be at the Tree Lighting At Levis Commons Saturday, and in the Home For The Holidays Parade in Downtown Perrysburg Sunday.
You can share these two events with friends on Facebook.
Happy Thanksgiving, and warm regards, from the Turner family and the Hannah's Socks team.

"All Meghan Music really wanted to do was help a girl she had never met before."

What a wonderful story.
Fifth-grader Meghan, from Calvert County in Maryland, learned about Hannah's Story while reading American Girl Magazine.
And then she took action. Read more »

We love it when people want to follow Hannah's example and collect socks to donate to shelters in their community.
So today we thank Dr. Priscilla A. Boerger, Assistant Professor at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. She and her students have begun a Sock Drive that they plan to run through the end of their academic year, April 2010.
To date they have collected 138 pairs of socks, and next week they're going to donate 80 pairs to St. Lawrence, a shelter that feeds 3 meals a day to approximately 80 individuals; and donate the remaining 58 pairs of socks to Boca Helping Hands, a center where needy individuals can pick up basic necessities during tough times.
Five years ago, Hannah and I gave 100 pairs of socks to a shelter in Toledo. Now, some wonderful people -- who live 1,300 miles from our home in Perrysburg, Ohio -- are doing the same thing.
Powerful stuff. Thanks to everyone from Lynn University who's involved in this effort. Hannah sends a hug!

Big thanks go out today to Brown Hyundai in Toledo:
From now until December 18, they will donate $50 to Hannah's Socks for every Hyundai sold!
You may catch Hannah on some local TV spots for this great promotion, and FM 104 WIOT will be mentioning it as well.
In addition, you can donate socks at drop-off points located at all Brown Automotive Group locations, including Hyundai, Honda and Mazda.
For locations and more information, visit www.brownautomotive.com. Thanks to everyone at Brown Automotive!

We received a sock donation from Anchorage, Alaska! I couldn't believe it. A kind woman named Terri sent us 20 pairs of wonderful new socks. Thanks Terri! We'll get the socks out right away to families that need them.

Big thanks today to Hires Dental at 3951 W. Sylvania Avenue in Toledo!

On Thanksgiving 2004, my little Hannah offered her socks to a man who had none.
Thanks to supporters just like you, it's been an amazing five years. And we're doing something special to commemorate the occasion:
On Saturday November 14, Hannah's Socks will donate 500 pairs of socks each to 5 partner shelters in 5 cities. This event is a reflection of the amazing growth we've been able to achieve because of every single person who's taken the time to Care, Share, Give A Pair.
We'll be visiting Cherry Street Mission in Toledo; Drop Inn Center in Cincinnati; Springtime of Hope in Akron; Walk of Faith Community Center in Cleveland; and Dayton Catholic Social Service in Dayton.
Five years ago, Hannah and I gave 100 pairs of socks to Cherry Street Mission. My, how far we've come! And we owe it all to you.

St. Julian's Fitness, located at 6330 Levis Commons Blvd. in Perrysburg and at 1096 N. Main St. in Bowing Green, is once again collecting socks, gloves, hats and scarves for Hannah to help the less fortunate in our area. Please stop by and help them fill up their Christmas tree with these much needed items. Thank you St. Julian!
